The Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) North Finder is designed for fast and autonomous true north determination. It operates by tracking the Earth’s rotational angular velocity using the gyroscope, processing this signal to calculate the angle between the gyroscope’s main axis and the true north direction. This system provides precise azimuth information to support carrier navigation.
